Summary
The Massage Therapist administers professional massage and body treatments ensuring a seamless and rejuvenating experience for all members. This role is crucial in maintaining high service standards, and supporting the overall success of the spa area.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Possess excellent communication skills
- Actively promote treatments, services and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available
- Able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide wellness solutions to meet the needs of our Members
- Possess a general understanding of body treatments and be willing to train in our club's specific massage and body treatment offerings
- Is punctual and timely: arrives at work on time, all the time. Begins and ends each appointment within the time allotted for the service.
- Possess a thorough knowledge of numerous massage modalities
- Able to consistently provide professional massage in accordance with club protocols and accepted license practices
- Effectively informs and educates our Members about specific wellness concerns
- Understands the importance of caring for equipment, using appropriate amounts of product, keeping the therapy rooms stocked and tidy
- Regularly attends training and staff meetings
- Can confidently handle and respond to Members and Guests' questions and concerns professionally and courteously
- Demonstrable experience of working for long periods of time without direct supervision
- Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the club's policies and procedures
- Perform all other work related duties as instructed by the supervisor
Requirements
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a spa, clinic, or wellness environment.
- Must hold an accredited massage license/ esthetician license
- Knowledge of spa treatments, products, and services.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and spa/hospitality software.
- Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
- Passion for the spa and wellness industry
- Obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification throughout employment
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a polished and professional demeanor.
- Any specialty certifications to work with members will be on a case by case basis with the Fitness Director's approval.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with Members and their Guests
- Treats others with kindness and respect
- Punctual: always arrives at work on time and at least 15 minutes to sessions.
- Professional and personable demeanor
- Able to manage multiple functions simultaneously
- Self-motivated: works well independently, naturally proactive
Interaction
- Frequent interaction with members and guests in person

- Dynamic and fast paced fitness and wellness center environment
Work Schedule
- Part Time - Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays based on business demands
- Able to work 4-6 hour shifts
